charter yacht QuasartToday is April 1, so I know you're likely to think a discount this steep must be an April Fool's joke. On the contrary: The 108-foot custom-built gulet Quasart is offering more than $20,000 off charters in the Bahamas beginning today and continuing through June 15.

Quasart's weekly base rate is usually $45,500 for as many as 12 guests, but management company Nicholson Yachts says the rate through mid-June will be $25,000. That includes all onboard meals but excludes fuel, dockage, taxes, and crew gratuity. (Standard extras for crewed yachts chartering in this area.)

If you'd rather wait to charter Quasart in New England later this summer, the yacht is offering a deal there, as well. It's not quite as good as what you can get in the Bahamas, but $29,500 as the weekly base rate is still a pretty penny of savings against the standard $45,500.

I saw Quasart last summer in Rhode Island, where she impressed a good number of brokers who toured her during the Newport Charter Show. Worth noting is that the yacht has eight guest cabins for 12 guests, which means plenty of options for singles or couples who don't want to share a room.

Any reputable charter broker can help you take advantage of these discounts, which become available as of today.
